Food and Wine
Culinary touring is booming in popularity and there are no surprises why Australia is leading the way.
This is a land of sublime food and wine: dazzling seafood, glorious cheeses and tropical fruit, succulent beef and lamb… Our expert chefs source the best local and seasonal ingredients, matching dishes with fine regional wines – brilliant bottles from iconic wine regions like the Barossa Valley, Margaret River, Yarra Valley and Hunter Valley.
The Australian craft beer, gin and whisky scenes are growing in notoriety too. Under the southern sun, there’s little chance of your glass running dry.
Adventure
The most memorable holidays are often the ones where you challenge yourself, try something new and feel the rush of adrenaline along the way.
Australia is full of adventures for experiences seekers of all levels. Take an eco-safari deep into the outback, sleep under the stars on the Great Barrier Reef, or try Segway riding and mountain biking on Rottnest Island. Embrace the adventure and make some new memories.
Outback
An inspiring, captivating and spiritual land, Australia’s outback will linger in your memory forever.
Afghan cameleers first explored the Red Centre in the 1830s – intrepid adventurers who established transport and trade routes across the desert.
These days our trains provide a much more comfortable experience than riding on the back of a camel, journeying from Adelaide to Darwin and across the country onboard the Indian Pacific.
Nature
Australia’s breakaway from the Gondwana supercontinent more than 100 million years ago set our country on a unique evolutionary path. There are natural wonders, species, sights and sounds here that you simply can’t find anywhere else.
Australia’s wilderness areas are biodiverse beacons for travellers looking to see and experience something beyond the ordinary. From the Red Centre to the tropical wilds of Kakadu, and the remote Kimberley to the spellbinding Whitsundays, we’ll take you there.
Indigenous
For more than 40,000 years, Australia’s Indigenous people lived in harmony with the continent’s diverse landforms and climates, utilising sophisticated tools and hunting techniques to adapt to the varied environments.
With complex social structures, more than 250 languages and a deep spirituality embodied in ‘The Dreaming’, understanding more about these fascinating ancient cultures is a powerful attraction for curious global travellers.
In the Red Centre, one of the most important spiritual sites to Indigenous Australians, Uluru, is also the focal point for our journeys of discovery.
Islands & Oceans
Australia’s spectacular coastline extends for an epic 59,736km – the same distance you’d cover if you flew from Sydney to Los Angeles five times!
Add 8000 islands and it’s no surprise that the beaches here are the best in the world. From compact Rottnest Island in the Indian Ocean to Hamilton Island in the Coral Sea, it’s fair to say that we’re spoilt for choice.
Offshore, the Great Barrier Reef and Ningaloo Reef are true wonders of the ocean – immersing yourself in these astonishing underwater realms is simply unforgettable.
