Outback

An inspiring, captivating and spiritual land, Australia’s outback will linger in your memory forever.

Afghan cameleers first explored the Red Centre in the 1830s – intrepid adventurers who established transport and trade routes across the desert.

These days our trains provide a much more comfortable experience than riding on the back of a camel, journeying from Adelaide to Darwin and across the country onboard the Indian Pacific.

Everything from the minute you step on is fabulous. Would definitely recommend The Ghan over and over.

Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration

Seeing Stars

It’s human nature to be curious about the unknown. Curiosity has driven us to cut through the dense mesh of the Amazon rainforest, to drive a flagpole into the ice at the South Pole, to send submarines to the bottom of the Mariana Trench… even to leave footprints on the surface of the moon. But what happens when all of the unknown places become known?

Breaking New Ground

Recently cited by Gourmet Traveller as ‘Margaret River’s most influential chef’, Evan Hayter traded the bright lights of a Michelin-starred international restaurant career for a tiny winery restaurant in Margaret River. We chewed the fat with him over how he’s blazing a trail when it comes to sustainability; and not just because it’s trending on Instagram.

The Daly Waters Pub

In Australia’s psyche and none more so than the humble outback tavern. In each edition of Journey Beyond magazine, we take a seat at the bar and lift the lid on some of Australia’s most iconic watering holes.
